Get paid for the data your business already has.
AI companies now license operational data from established businesses. Published buyer programs start around $100K for qualified firms. You pay nothing, and your business keeps ownership.
Step 1 of 3
Your company looks like a strong fit.
Buyers look for exactly this profile: established, digital and with years of history. We'll be in touch within one business day to arrange a short, confidential call.

Some buyer programs have specific requirements. We'll review your answers and come back to you within one business day.
Thanks for checking.
Based on your answers, your company may not meet current buyer criteria, which usually focus on firms with 10+ years and 10+ staff. Requirements change as the market grows; we'll only contact you again if you've agreed to it.
Who we are
Harbor & Hale Data is an independent advisory firm working at the meeting point of established businesses and the companies building artificial intelligence.
Over years of operation, businesses accumulate something that cannot be found anywhere else: a detailed record of how real work is done. Projects, decisions, processes, client service, problems solved. As AI developers look beyond public information, this record has gained recognized commercial value.
Most business owners have never had reason to think of their records this way. Our role is to help them understand what they hold, what it may be worth, and how to approach the market on sound terms, or to decide that it isn't right for them.
Our services
Data assessment
A structured, confidential conversation about the systems your business uses, the history it holds and the kinds of records it keeps. We help you see which of those records are relevant to the market and which should stay out of scope.
Market introductions
We work with a select group of buyers and data partners who license business data for AI development. Where there is a genuine fit, we introduce your business to the most suitable one, and only with your agreement.
Process guidance
From first review to signed agreement, we explain each stage in plain terms: what the buyer evaluates, what you share and when, and what the licensing terms mean for your business.
How we work
- 01
Discretion
Conversations with us are confidential. We don't share information about your business with anyone without your permission.
- 02
Owner control
Nothing moves forward without your decision. You choose whether to proceed, what is in scope and what stays out, at every stage.
- 03
Ownership stays with you
We focus on licensing arrangements, not sales of data or of businesses. What your business has built remains yours.
- 04
Clear, honest information
We tell you what we know and what we don't. If your business isn't a good fit, we say so early.
- 05
Respect for your obligations
Your commitments to clients, employees and partners come first. Records covered by confidentiality agreements or regulation are excluded unless properly cleared.

- Step 2

We give you an honest view of whether there is a fit, which records may be relevant and what the market looks like for businesses like yours.
- Step 3
Introduction
If you decide to proceed, we introduce you to a suitable buyer. Any sample review takes place under a confidentiality agreement, on terms you approve.
- Step 4
Agreement
The licensing agreement is made directly between your business and the buyer. We recommend your own legal counsel reviews it before you sign.
You can step away at any point before signing.
The market for business data
The systems now being developed by AI companies are increasingly expected to perform real professional work.
Training them requires more than public information. It requires examples of how experienced businesses actually operate.
As a result, a market has formed in which AI developers and specialized data partners license operational records from established businesses, under defined terms and for defined periods. Several have announced substantial programs dedicated to it.
The market is new, terms vary widely and practices are still settling. We believe businesses deserve independent, plain-spoken guidance as they consider it.
How we are compensated
Our services are provided at no cost to the businesses we advise. When a licensing agreement is completed, we receive a referral fee from the buyer.
We do not purchase, store or resell data. Agreements are made directly between your business and the buyer, and we will always tell you which buyer is involved before anything is shared.
Harbor & Hale Data is independent and is not owned by any AI company.
